When creating and using templates in eformity, various issues can arise. A common problem is that text gets placed in the header or footer. This article explains why this happens and how to fix it.

The problem

When a part of the text, such as a reference number or subject, is placed in the header or footer, it’s crucial that the system returns to the main body text before inserting the remaining data.

The solution

To ensure that the remaining data is placed in the main body text, you need to insert a bookmark named dpStart in the main body of the template. The system will then return to the main body text (dpStart) after placing the header or footer.

You can add bookmarks via the "Insert" tab in Microsoft Word. Once you click on "Bookmark" in the ribbon, a dialog box will open. Enter dpStart in the "Bookmark name:" field and press the "Add" button to insert the new bookmark.

Tip!

If a document has a dpStart bookmark, this will be the location where the cursor blinks after the document has been generated.
